Where was he now?

He looked up into the sky, staring at the moon.

It was bright as the light that had come from the old man's throat as he had

arrived at the mouth.

The stars were like the light that had come through the old man's eyes.

Each thing reminded him of his life inside.

What was he now that he no longer lived or died

according to the old man's whims?

What was he now that he no longer depended upon the

old man's body for his sustenance and warmth?

Where would he swim to now?
