Now all I eat is frosting, milk, ice: cold things,
things that will evaporate into a sweetness.

The road leads up into the ceiling.
When I sleep, I see the ceiling unfold.
The fan becomes a window.

I have worn through my lining. I press
my hand against it as I drink and still it seeps through
in milky beads of sweat.
